Day 1 Travel Photo

This photo was taken in March, 2002 in Belize. I believe it was the village of Independence in Southern Belize. If you go in close you can see the produce which was all grown without chemicals mainly because these farmers can’t afford chemicals. In contrast to all the healthy food, checkout all the Coca-Cola signs. Finally, the young man on the extreme right is likely from the Garifuna People. They have a distinct culture and language. The origins of the Garifuna was a slave ship that wrecked on a Caribbean Island inhabited by Arawak Amerindian people. The t-shirt reminds me of a contemporary Black Lives Matter image.

This is another angle showing the young man with the T-shirt. Anyone have an idea who is on the shirt?
